Most Windows 7 users don't touch this feature because they don't care too or because they don't know about it, but if you press
[Start] and type into the
"search program and files" box Windows will search for what ever file you are describing. It's a nice feature, but comes at a
heavy performance cost.
If you have any speed issues or don't care to use the feature...
Disable Search:
[start] > [control panel] > [programs and features] > [Turn windows features on or off] > uncheck [Windows Search] > [OK]
Enable Search:
[start] > [control panel] > [programs and features] > [Turn windows features on or off] > check [Windows Search] > [OK]
